The beginning of June means a lot of things for our fellow South Africans, just last week President Ramaphosa announced that certain provinces will be easing lockdown restrictions dependent on number of COVID-19 cases. The national lockdown was implemented in March with its purpose to slow down the rate of infections of Corona Virus in the country. A ban on alcohol and tobacco products has been implemented along with certain parts of the economy such as retail and hospitality & tourism.
Gauteng currently has 2 343 infected persons whereas Western Cape currently has 10 035 confirmed cases.
Premier Makhura has stated that Gauteng currently has the highest rate of recovery cases dropping from 50% to now 10% of reported active cases making it the leading province in testing.
Peak cases are expected at the end of June and best case scenario is in August.
